THANK YOU
Our students are waiting for someone
like you.
At On Broadway, we believe that every young person deserves the chance to discover their voice, step into their power, and shine. Your donation directly supports students as they train with Broadway professionals, build confidence, and access world-class performing arts opportunities, right here in Harlem.
Your generosity helps us ensure that cost is never a barrier and that the next generation of performers, creators, and cultural leaders can thrive.
Scholarship Awards
The Matthew Boice Memorial Award
50% TUTION SCHOLARSHIP - $2,375 Award
Matthew Boice spent his entire working life as a music educator in the greater Pittsburgh area. A distinguished tenor soloist, organist, and music director, he was an active member of the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, the American Choral Directors Association, and the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh. At the time of his passing, he was serving as mayor of East Washington — a testament to the depth of his commitment to the people and community around him.
This award honors his legacy and the profound impact he had on his students and his community, which are at the heart of everything we do at On Broadway. He was a celebrated musician and civic leader, but it was as an educator that he changed the course of his students' lives. He went above and beyond to uplift and protect the young people in his care, graciously sharing his knowledge and expertise, creating safe spaces for them to grow as artists and as individuals, and ensuring they were seen, heard, and believed in.
For those of us whose lives he touched, this award is a way of saying thank you and of carrying his belief in young people forward into the next generation. It is offered in his memory, and in the hope that the students who receive it will one day pay that kindness forward.
The Willie Mae Anderson Award
80% TUTION SCHOLARSHIP - $3,800 Award
The Willie Mae Anderson Scholarship is named in honor of a woman who has not only been a pillar of her community, but a personal blessing to On Broadway Performing Arts Training Program. Ms. Anderson is a fierce advocate, a tenant leader, and a protector of what matters. Through decades of organizing and standing up for the residents of Cathedral Parkway Towers, she helped secure safe, affordable housing and a sense of dignity for countless families.
To Rema, she is also someone who has consistently shown up with generosity and heart—opening her doors so our students could rehearse, grow, and feel seen. She doesn’t just believe in community—she builds it, sustains it, and pours into it.
This scholarship is awarded to students who reflect her spirit: resilient, grounded, and committed to lifting others as they rise.
The Peter Faber Award
100% TUTION SCHOLARSHIP - $4,750 Award
The Peter Faber Scholarship honors a brilliant legal mind and a generous supporter of the arts whose impact on On Broadway Performing Arts Training Program was foundational. On Broadway Performing Arts Training Program connected with Peter through Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, where he not only helped incorporate the organization and secure our 501(c)(3) status, but also personally covered those early costs—believing in the vision from the very beginning.
A distinguished attorney and former partner at McDermott Will & Emery, Peter also dedicated his life to service, supporting arts education and organizations around the world. He continues to show up for our work as a donor and advocate, always encouraging the growth of young artists.
This scholarship is awarded to students who reflect his spirit of generosity, excellence, and quiet but powerful support of others.
